Winter isn’t over and we know that you are looking forward to sunnier days. However, making the most of each season is important and one of the activities you can’t miss during these cold months is baking at home. There’s nothing like a batch of oatmeal cookes and at Great Harvest in Newtonville, we would like to share an easy, yet delicious recipe to prepare this classic treat.

Ingredients

1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups oatmeal
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Dough

Preheat your oven to 350°F, in the mean time butter your baking trade and don’t forget to place a parchment sheet on it.  Use a mix bowl to whisk the butter and sugar, once they are combined stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda until incorporated. Now, add the cinnamon, oatmeal and flour - mix thoroughly.

Bake!

Now that your dough is ready, use your hands to create small balls about half an inch and place them on your tray. Let them bake for about 20 minutes and allow them cool completely before eating. Remember to pack your cookies in containers or freeze them in case you are saving them for another occasion.
